The memorial Tank-34 "Tambov Collective Farmer" was erected in July 1949 in the park at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Moskovskaya streets in memory of the initiative of Tambov residents to raise funds for the purchase of weapons for the Red Army. Now one of the tanks purchased with public money, side number 366, adorns our city on a pedestal. This tank, commanded by Hero of the Soviet Union Philip Antonovich Gokov, took part in the Battle of Stalingrad, the Battle of Kursk and the battles for the liberation of Ukraine.
